There's a great rundown on Linux vs NT with the experiences of big US sites running each and the pros and cons in a number of important areas such as scalabilty etc. It's at Webmonkey and worth a read for those still deciding on a host.

And the Apache web server seems to be the most common according to the Netcraft Web Server Survey at http://www.netcraft.com/Survey/

Thanks darren.. Yeah I'm pretty biased towards Linux...I also have rarely seen NT work well with perl scripts...If I was on NT I'd want cold fusion based C++ code..or something like Allaire forums... But I'd love to be wrong and hear that Threads is great on NT..I am after all a WWWThreads geek :) Renee Levant [b]Oracle Web Services[b] [email protected]
